The Formula 1 season came to a very exciting climax this year with two of the best drivers around neck and neck in the race to be champion. Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso were first and second and were only separated by only the smallest margin which meant it all came down to the final race of the year which was the Brazilian Grand Prix. Alonso had to win and hope that Vettel came lower then fourth but in the end Jenson Button won the race and Alonso came second. But it wasn’t enough for Alonso as Vettel came sixth to retain his drivers championship and become the youngest driver in  history to win it three years in a row. It was tough for Alonso to take as he only lost out by three points but he did his best and he will just have to try again next year along with everyone else as the search for the man to knock Vettel off his perch continues.

Chelsea crash out of Champions League December 2012

6 Dec

Chelsea have recently crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages. They failed to get through the group which is the first time that the team who it the previous year failed to get through. This will cost them an estimated 20 million pounds of revenue alone. They came third which means they do qualify for the Europa League. Juventus topped the group with Shaktar Donetsk coming second with ten points but they had better goal difference then Chelsea who also had ten points. The win against FC Nordsjaelland was not enough , with goals coming from Torres(2) , David Luiz , Juan Mata , Cahill and Oscar. Roman Abramovich  must not be happy after watching his team fail to progress to the latter stages of the tournament he fancies the most and this cannot be good for new manager Rafa Benitez. But at least he got Torres to score.

This picture clearly shows that Hernandez was clearly offside in the United and Chelsea game. The linesman got it wrong and United got the luck they don’t normally get at Stamford Bridge but you must feel sorry for Chelsea as it was offside.
